HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE CLASS IN KAMPALA

Mónika L. Novák was given a chance to introduce the Hungarian language and culture to the students of an international school in Uganda, globoport.hu wrote. (Read more about Mónika’s adventure in Africa here!)

Mónika has held a lecture in the school which her kids attend, and although most of the students were born in Africa, Uganda Kampala Hungarian language classtheir mother tongue is English, and students have the opportunity to learn other languages, such as Chinese, French, Suavely, or German. The Hungarian language is something special, and Mónika was asked to be a guest lecturer to introduce Hungary and Hungarian culture to the students.

According to globoport.hu, more than 1200 leading businessmen from all around the world were present at the 10th American-African Business Forum that lasted for 5 days in Addis Ababa. FUKUOKA AND DOHA TO HOST 2021 & 2023 FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The FINA.org said, the Japanese city of Fukuoka will host the 2021 edition of the FINA World Championships and the FINA World Masters Championships, while Doha in Qatar will host the same two competitions in 2023. The decision was made after the vote of the FINA Bureau today in Budapest (HUN), some hours before the staging of the FINA World Aquatics Gala – Soirée des Etoiles.

FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 – “IT’S A GREAT LEGACY FOR BUDAPEST!”

FINA.org – “It’s amazing what has been done here in just eight months!” The FINA President Dr. Julio C. Maglione couldn’t hide his astonishment when visiting this afternoon the new Aquatics Complex, the main venue of the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest (HUN). Started in May 2015, the new facility will comprise two 50 m pools (one for competition and one for warm-up purposes) and one diving pool. When visiting the place, three days before the celebration of the FINA Aquatics Gala – Soirée des Etoiles in the Magyar capital, the FINA delegation praised the state of the construction, which will be ready by March 2017.

ORPHANAGE IN UGANDA UNDER THE PROTECTIVE WING OF THE AFRICAN HUNGARIAN UNION

According to globoport.hu, a comprehensive welfare project has been launched for the orphans of the children’s home in the outskirts of Mbale, initiated by the African Hungarian Union (AHU).

All the nuns and the children rushed to the member of the AHU and were very happy about the gifts she had brought. The children could get balls, stuffed animals and sandbox toys as well.

GAMBIA TO OPEN A HUNGARIAN HOUSE

The Hungarian Trade and Cultural Center (HTCC) is going to open a new sub-office in Gambia, the smallest African country, globoport.hu was informed.

HTCC is present in several countries and has four sub-offices in Africa so far: in Morocco, in Uganda, in Botswana, and in Malawi. Gáspár Gulyás, the designated manager of Banjul HTCC gave an exclusive interview to Globoport about the office’s goals and their work.

London, January 22 (MTI) – Relics of Saint Thomas of Canterbury held in Esztergom in northern Hungary will be displayed in the United Kingdom between May 23 and 29, Hungarian Ambassador Peter Szabadhegy said on Friday. President Janos Ader, Cardinal Peter Erdo, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, and Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen will attend the opening events of the series. On May 23 Erdo will celebrate a mass at Westminster Cathedral in the presence of Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, representatives of the Catholic and Anglican churches, British government officials, British intellectuals and artists.
