Cambodia welcomes Hungarian tourists

Dr. Thong Khon, Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism, visited Hungary to open the country’s first Tourism Representation in the Central-Eastern European region.

“Cambodia is a stable, reliable and safe country” the minister said, adding that the Cambodian government pays special attention to tourism, a crucial part of the country’s economic development, reported globoport.hu.

“We’re committed to constant improvement within the sector in order to keep our competitiveness up, and possibly increase it” he said, adding that Hungarian tourists and investors are warmly welcomed in Cambodia.

Dr Rudolf Sárdi, leader of the Cambodian Tourism Representation of Budapest said that opening the office has greatly improved the two countries’ relationship and will make it possible for millions of tourists to visit the Southeast Asian country, including thousands of Hungarians.

In recent years several Hungarian delegacies have visited Cambodia, as tourism can play an important role in deepening the two countries’ relationship.
